Dancing with Her Stepdad

Family Playtime, Book 46
A.D. Barnes

They're having a Daddy-Daughter dance at my stepfather's country club. I wasn't going to mention it. He doesn't want to go with me anyway. But my best friend wants me to go. Misery loves company. So she mentions it to my mom, who then tells my stepdad. I try to back out. I don't know how to dance, not like that, not ballroom dancing. When my stepdad says he'll teach me, I balk. I don't think I can hide my reaction to him if we're that close. But he also can't hide his reaction to me.
